A small white-and-gold flower of the daisy family, chamomile is probably the best-known medicinal plant of Mediterranean culture. Its flower heads contain essential oils (chamazulene, bisabolol) and flavonoids with a gentle anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic action on the digestive system. Delicate enough for children and the elderly, effective enough that no home should be without it.

How to prepare it
Infuse a spoonful of flowers per cup for 5 minutes, after meals or before bed.
